I’m sickened by this whole blu-ray / HD-DVD war. I know there are some DVD players that have both formats but why should I spend that much money on a new player and new movies when I can simply buy a Upconverting DVD 1080p player with HDMI? I guess my question is will the quality of the unpconvert be as good as the Blu-ray/ HD-DVD versions?

I am interested in buying either a 37″ or 42″ LCD and was told because of the screen size it wouldn’t matter to much. If I were to go to a bigger screen then 1080p would be best. Is this accurate?

I will only be using this TV for watching HD movies. Walmart is selling a 720p Sanyo for Black Friday. Just wanted some thoughts on if it is worth it to pony up the cash for 1080p. Again, I will only be using this TV for watching HD movies. Thanks.

I am getting ready to purchase and I noticed the 1080p is more expensive so I am assuming it is better but how much better and is it worth the price. Any suggestions for a good HD tv as well?

I have an Xbox 360 connected to my 32 inch Philips HDTV via an HDMI cable and for some reason there is only an HD 1080i option and not HD 1080p for the display type, how can I make it HD 1080p on my Xbox 360? It won’t let me.

it seems crazy that 32″ tvs have 1080p. i always hear conflicting numbers about this and some people say 42″ and some say 50″.

Got my TV a little over a year ago and it does not support 1080p, only 720p and 1080i. Did I make a mistake or is the difference negligable in all cases?

I have heard that the difference between a 1080p and 720p is minimal if you only sit less than 10 feet away. Does this change if the it is Plasma vs. LCD? Or does it change if the TV is bigger or smaller?
Thanks!

What is the difference between a Vizio LCD-HDTV with 720p and 1080p? I’m considering buying the 32 in with the 720p.
