I have a custom built PC, but it’s very old and can’t even play 720p videos. What hardware do I need to change in it so I can play full 1080p movies on my PC? Please recommend some types/model names of the parts I need to buy. I already have a full HD monitor.

I am in Iraq right now, and brought my PS3 with me. My TV back home was a Samsung 1080P HDMI. I am trying to get it to convert back so i can play it on my tv here in Iraq using a/v jacks?

I have a few movies on my computer that are 1080p resolution and dont play smoothly. Is there any way to do something to the file itself to make it run smoothly because upgrading my computer isnt an option. the movies are .mkv files

1080p displays are the newest types of LCD displays on the market. Although broadcasters do not send a 1080p signal yet, the newest Blu-ray and HD DVD players do. If you want the highest possible picture detail and a display that will accommodate higher resolutions in the future, then the cost may be worth it.
